FUNDING OPTIONS
You do not need a referral to access speech therapy, however a referral is required to access funding support for eligible clients
Medicare
You may be eligible for some subsidy for speech therapy, via the Medicare Chronic Disease Management program (CDMP). You must obtain it from your GP to access this subsidy (up to 5 sessions per calendar year)
The GP will make the referral using a CDM referral form (or a letter containing all of the components of the referral form).
Registered Medicare Provider
NDIS
Children on NDIS can use their funding with Mustard Seed Kids if their funding is
self-managed, or plan-managed.
Private Health
Check with your private health insurance provider to see if Speech Pathology is listed under your 'extras' cover.
Concessions
Families currently on a valid concession card, who are not eligible for any of the above funding may be offered a reduced rate.
